Because Bhitarkanika is a tidal estuary, departure schedules are aligned with high and mid-tide levels to enable smooth passage into narrow mangrove creek labyrinths. Safaris typically set sail between 7:00 AM and 2:30 PM. Our desk coordinates with forest authorities to sync your departure with optimal tides.
Life jackets are strictly compulsory for all passengers prior to boarding. Passengers must never lean out over the gunwale or trail hands in the river. Single-use plastic bottles are prohibited; our vessels provide purified water in sanitized dispensers.
